Hi Everyone!

I was wondering if anyone here has had any luck using PNY CF cards for creating B/U images off of Audrey?

I've gone through all the steps and she is recognizing my card on insertion and devb-cf but when I issue the cat command (cat fs0p0 fs0p1 fs0p2 > /dev/cf from the dev directory the sursor jsut blinks for about 15-20 seconds then does a carraige return to the next line. No progress noted no errors no nothing. I was told from everything that I read that it would take between 2-3 mins for hte back-up process so I'm confident this is a failing effort? OTher than risking a dead box from a bad flash how can I confirm the back-up was sucessful? The only thing I cna think is that its the CF card?

Any input would be appreciated.

Initially I had the same "problem". In fact there isn't probably any. It worked just fine. You can check by unplugging Audrey, plug in your cf card and plug Audrey in again while holding the DateBook button. (The button on the top right).
Audrey should boot after a while with the screen flickering. If the boot goes normal for the rest, your image on the cf card is OK.

I agree, it's probably fine. You would be best to leave out fs0p2, however. That is the boot loader and its best not to mess with it. You can recover if you screw up the other 2, but if the boot loader is hosed then Audrey is a boat anchor.

I just wanted to add that, with alot of frustration and booting to 4 diff OS's I got my Lexar 32MB compact flash to work. I was smart enough to archive a .cf on my WinXP system but had not yet put it to a flash mem card. I hacked my Audrey and was working on the startup files when the power went out. It was dead. Eventually under WinXP I used ntrw. Make sure that it is version 2.0 that comes with jayklm's image. I found it on Audreyhacking.com in the files section. Initially I wrote an image that was 32161792 bytes. This was the size that Linux booted dd command reported so I assumed it was correct. When I tested the cf using "ntrw read test g:" it wrote a test file of 32243712 bytes. I redid mkcf to my original image with this new size and rewrote the new file with ntrw. Success. I wrote the size down on the back of the card so as not to forget.
