I was wondering if someone can walk me through the cf backup/update process? I've read the directions from several sites, but get stuck at the first step, "Make sure you have the Shell access enabled and pterm running from the Audrey Options menu". I can't figure out how to do this to save my life? I just bought 2 audreies and I wanted to set one up with the jukebox3 image and one with the infinity image and see which one I like better.

Also, both my audreies shipped from ubid with cracks in the case at the pivoting stand. Is this common? should I just fix this with epoxy?

thanks,

steve

Check out the Audrey FAQ. It is really good
http://www.3rdmoon.com/crusso/audrey/
and follow the instructions in the "How can I update my Audrey's Software?" section
It is much easier if you have a working USB adapter. You may need to use 66.17.16.112 for the DNS server.

After your Audrey updates you will have a shell. Check out www.audreyhacking.com and the sites in the links section you will find the info needed to add a terminal button to your action pallet. This will give you a rood shell. Once you have a root shell install cifs-fs. this will allow you to mount a dir from your windows machine. At this point it will be real easy to copy any image.cf file off your windows machine share to your /dev/cf card.

The best advice I can give you is check out all the audrey links and read. There is a lot of good info out there.

good luck

That's a no can do right now, I'm still waiting for the Netgear EA101 to ship. Is there a resource, faq, or walkthough for creating a cf image using only a windows machine? I've read many posts about it and some of the audrey sites mentions it, but I haven't been able to find a clear step by step process to do this.

Thanks,

Steve
