I haven't seen anyone else mention this before, but im having some major issues with voyager. I'm using the jukebox usb image, and most web sites do not come up, one example is google.com, while a site like wirelessanarchy.com comes up fine. I first thought it was a dns issue, but going to the ip didn't work either. I can pull up the webserver on my lan just fine, so i saved a copy of google.com on my webserver as google.html, and that wouldn't come up. so i removed all the javascript and tables from google.html, and then it comes up fine. is voyager just a really horrible browser, or has nobody else seen this happening?

Voyager and Hotmail don't play nicely either. Is this the case with all web-based e-mail of just Hotmail? I'm guessing there's not other browser for the Audrey?

i don't use hotmail, but i do use a webmail and tonight i realized that i couldn't attach my hotlist.html file in an email. the 'browse' button wasn't there and i tried all combinations of file strings that i could but no luck.

But how much better is it than the stock Audrey browser...

Interesting, I've been using voyager for over 6 months now and rarely have a problem. True, Hotmail has issues, but then Microsoft owns it so what do you expect? Yahoo mail works fine. As for google.com, it works just fine for me, I've never had a problem with it. Even script-heavy sites like cnet.com work. I poked around for some settings that might explain the difference, but didn't find anything interesting. The only thing that might be different is I have my disk cache on a network share.

My hotmail on the original Audrey Ergo browser works flawlessly. So I'm sorry to hear that Voyager doesn't do Hotmail, since I will be upgarding soon. Does anyone have any answers on how to make Hotmail work on Voyager?

This thread shows what Microsoft has done for us. Use their products and you're "fine". Use any other product and you will encounter limitations on the net. Windoze sucks...

and btw HotMail works in ALL my images on voyager. However there are other sites that won't work, exactly the same when you use infinit's image.

Yea, hotmail works, but can you delete emails? This is the problem my girlfriend has. She checks the box and trys to delete, but they will not delete. My web mail is through a local ISP and they use something that I think is IE based and it works, all except for the 'browse' button and if I knew how to type QNX file strings, it might work. example: I have a file in the root /hotlist.html, how do I enter file/location? (I copied it to the root to make it more simple)

some people have to select the top security option in order to log into hotmail, it will tell you that the browser will have limited functions and tells you to download ie5 or later, just press continue. to delete emails in hotmail you can not select the boxes, you have to delete one by one, basically go into each mail and hit the delete link.

Sorry, I miss read the error message Hotmail gave me. It says, "Your current web browsing software will limit your ability to use hotmail." and recommends upgrading to IE or Netscape.

Anyways, I tried to delete something e-mails from my hotmail account and the Audrey just freaked out and opened around 20 blank Voyager windows. That's the last time I try that.

stevewu,
you can't select the boxes to delete emails. it will just continue opening blank voyager windows. you have to hit each email and when you are in you will see a delete link, hit that to delete it.

anyone think it could be a problem with my pegasus nic? if it's not happening to anyone else, i cant think of what the problem could be. are the people that can get to google.com using the jukebox usb image? is there a way to get voyager to spit out any debugging logs? i can't see why i can repeatedly get to some sites fine though, if it was intermitant i'd be more likely to think it's my nic. my main issue now is that i've installed the globecom jukebox on my linux box, and that wont come up on my audrey, but works fine from other machines.

edraven,

This is a really stupid thing, but it was giving me problems for a while. Check your network settings. I can't remember what Jukebox's image had in it, but Infinity's had defaulted on a static ip, so everytime I rebooted I had to change the setting to DHCP before Voyager would work.

Steve
