Does Audrey need a screen protector?

Possibly a dumb question, but has anyone ever put a screen protector on their Audrey?

I have one on my smartphone (Kyocera 6035) and my Palm, and both of them use a stylus which can potentially scratch the screen's surface.

Wouldn't it make sense to protect Audrey's surface?

Has anyone gotten any scratches or gauges on their screen?

I'd love to hear everybody's opinion.

Thanks,

A real hacker makes scratches on Audrey's screen when she doesn't boot again.

most of the newer audreys already have a screen protector. If you look very closely when tapping, you can see a bit of compression of the most outer layer. If you tap very gently you can kinda feel the stylus being sprung back, which means that there is a piece of plastic ontop of the LCD. I think some older audreys do not have this thin film over the LCD(mitsu####a/panasonic?). The feeling is totally different when you tap on one with and without this thin film, and the ones with the thin film seems a bit more reflective, making the screen a bit blurry. The screens on the ones without the thin film seem to be sharper but not very scratch resistant.

Thanks for the info.

So has anyone out there actually applied a screen protector to their Audrey?

Just curious.

Infinity,
Isn't the 'built in screen protector' really the 'touch' part of the touchscreen? I don't think you can just replace it whenever you feel like it.

the "touch" part is the LCD glass, what i am refering to is a thin film that is ontop of the glass. I used to own one without this thin film and the one i have now has this thin film. I had a deep scratch on the one without this thin film and the one i have right now seems to be very scratch resistant. perhaps the one you have is like my old one which did not have this film, you can definitely feel the difference when tapping on one with the film and one without. Actually i liked the one without more because it felt better, the one with the film has a cushioning effect and feels artificial.
