MP3 streaming question
MP3 streaming

Has anyone found a way to stream MP3 files to the audrey to play via the photon media player (via voyager) from a local networked PC server(either windoze or linux)?

I found the thread on using Winamp remotely but I want the sound to come from the audrey - I also saw the recommendation to use an older realplayer streamer but I would prefer to stay in native MP3 format.

I have tried the shoutcast server from Winamp but I get an unrecognized file type on the Audrey, probably because shoutcast (and I think Icecast from what I've read) send a playlist file type rather than an MP3 file type.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Yes, there have been a number of threads here in the past about http streaming of MP3s to Audrey. I recall there was even a perl script posted for generating playlists for streamed MP3s. Dig around here some more and you'll find it.
