can you list the main apps used in the usb 1-1 image, and the files composing them, and how much space you'd save deleting each app? say i want to delete realplayer, it would be nice to have a list of all the files i can safely delete to get rid of it, etc.

The main apps are all visible as menu entries in shelf. Delete the shelf entry and the executable. Libs are used in general by more than 1 app, so in general you don't want to delete those. And I don't think you want to delete upgraded libs and go back to the crippled ones from original Audrey. Deleting functionality is another question. To be honest I cannot understand why you ask this question.
I go back to your example with RealPlayer. That's an easy one. All RealPlayer functionality is built in original Audrey. I replaced /kojak/kojak-realplayer with the real one. At the time it was done already by others and because of it's simplicity I would hardly call installing RealPlayer a hack. I'm not aware if any lib upgrades were involved. If so I had done that already for other apps.
Another example, installing QNX USB support is mainly done with copy and paste from the RTP to Audrey. However here you have to do a real hack and create a couple of scripts to restore and activate this new USB functionality in Audrey. Those scripts and others are clearly visible in the USB1-1 image with FileManager of course. If you have an original Audrey you can install QNX USB support in a matter of minutes now with copy and paste. It's no longer an original hack since I have done it already, although I'm under the impression infinity thinks otherwise, but he cannot do it without using my scripts, although there is always room for improvements of course, but it remains my hack either way.
At the same token I can replace the QNX USB support as quick with copy and paste by bringing back the old files and delete my new sripts and you have the original Audrey USB support back with the hard coded built in script from 3COM. BTW installing or deinstalling QNX USB support involves some changes in Audrey's config files too and are part of my original hack too of course. What I would like to see are new original hacks by others in new images, but infinity is the most active producer of new images now and he seems to be obsessed to copy my hacks and call them his own. I made three images for what I see as three different groups of Audrey users and he believes in the "definitive" and "ultimate" image, but I don't.
I explained in my "Audrey Hackers Manual" on my site how to use Neutrino Sin! Have you tried?

deleting un-wanted files and apps from audrey is easy. The hard part is removing the references to those items from other start-up files. There are older threads about what files are safe to delete but nothing about removing the references. I started working on that months ago but always manage to somehow screw it up.

I agree, the config files are an easy way to get caught with your pants down. Here's what I do.

1. Mount a share from my Server
2. Backup image to share
3. Backup image to CF
4. Delete some files
5. look through /kojak/go /kojak/boot.sh /kojak/configure.sh /config/rm-apps /config/startup-main /config/startup-warm Look for any files that you deleted, or may relate to what you deleted.
6. `find / | grep deleted_file` I only use part of the file name. so for example if you were trying to delete realplayer type `find/ | grep real` and make note of any items returned.
7. Repeat Step five for any results from step 6
8. Repeat Steps 6 & 7 for any other combination you might think off ie `find / | grep realplay` Also make note of any files found, these will probably be your next victims
9. Cross fingers, spin in circle three times and reboot.
10. If she starts up, I go back to the top of the list and start over. If not I use pterm to runn through the confige files again. If all else fails I flash back from the CF card and try again

My apologies to everyone else that's not involved.
I feel i have to defend myself here since kukebox is slicing me in everything he posts. People are just asking how to delete some files and yet i am being sliced. You will not find any kukebox's scripts(mainly his network scripts for his USB image) in my images. Sadly when he composes an image with other people's apps he calls them his own. The only thing that comes close to being original are the 2 or so network scripts found in his USB image. All his other images comprise NOTHING original, all borrowed from apps found here. What really ticked me(probably a lot others too) off was his post about HIM being responsible for the price of Audrey to go up. YOUR IMAGES ARE COMPILATIONS OF WHAT OTHERS HAVE DONE BEFORE YOU. HOW ABOUT CALLING IT OUR WORK HAS CAUSED THE PRICE OF AUDREYS TO GO UP. I don't see you giving any credits to the hard working people that created those apps/images so you can use in your images, yet i gave you and everyone here credit for their hardwork out of RESPECT and APPRECIATION even on my first post. If i wanted i could've done what you've done-taking everything i found here and calling it my own. I guess that's not enough for you huh Kukebox. Others might think you are God but I know enough about the internal workings of audrey and can compose images based on my own knowledge so frankly i know exactly what is original and what's borrowed in your images. I really do not have to RESPECT you if you don't respect me. If you don't want to share maybe you shouldn't even post them for the world to download. If you want to dominate maybe you should head to some newbies Audrey community and rule there, too many people here know too much.
