i'm attempting to create an image on a 64MB sandisk card from a downloaded image on a win98 machine. is there a way to determine the correct (exact) size to create the iamge using MKCF? ntrw won't run on a 98 machine... is there another way to get the CFs size?

use Genxplor and "create an image from physical disk". Check the properties of the file it creates. You'll need Gemxplor to uplead to your card. There is a thread that spells this out "audrey newbie probs w/ updating" about one page back.

It's easy, if you have step=by-step insturctions.

Always check you image by holding the 'Datebook' button at start-up.
'Power' and 'Datebook' to Flash.

If you don't know the correct size of your CF card and if you are getting the "FATAL - Invalid Image" error message while trying to flash the Audrey, then here is what you do.

connect your audrey to a windows PC using a null modem cable. Fire up Hyperterminal on your windows pc and make sure you have the the correct port settings.
57600,8,none,1.
Now, try to boot from the flash again. When audrey tries to boot from the CF, it'll spit the CF information onto its serial port and you'll see that on your hyperterminal screen.

The capacity field above shows the size of my CF card in HEX which is F800. Using the windows Calculator i found out the decimal equivalent of F800 which is 63488.
Muitiply this with 512 and you'll get the correct size of your CF card. 63488 x 512 = 32505856 bytes.

Hope this helps
