It'n not entirely clear to me what you try to accomplish. If you want to flash Audrey with a new image you unplug Audrey first. You plug the the cf card in holding the new image. Next you press the Datebook and Power button together and plug Audrey's power brick in the wall outlet.
It seems you press the Datebook button only and what happens is Audrey checks if you have a valid image on the cf card and loads its old image.

kinda hard to understand this thread, but I read "i have me old OS from audrey delet" to mean that you deleted the original OS before flashing the new image onto Audrey. You don't delete anything before flashing, flashing will automatically erase existing flash memory before loading the new image. But it sounds like the loader is still there and you can hold the 'power button' and 'datebook' at boot up (unplug audrey, then plug it back in).

Good luck

Has anyone else noticed that when you boot audrey with a test image on the CF and hold the calendar button, it still boots to the image already ON the audrey? I tested this when going from jukebox3 to 4. At first I thought I was on 4, but then I noticed the old flash intro. I rebooted a couple times and used other images to test this, and they all came out the same, it booted with the image on the audrey not the card.

However, if I put a card in with a bad image on it, it would not boot at all. So, it is still a good way to test the cards validity, but not if you like the image before you use it.

Yes, I noticed it. And the pulling the card before you unplug doesn't apply when testing the image with the 'Datebook' button boot. I found this out by accident, all the instructions say to remove the CF before unplugging, but I was distracted on time and left it in and was real worried, but it flashed ok after that. Every time I flash I get nervious, I don't want to kill Audrey or my CF.

And when I boot with CF and 'Datebook', I get a lot of flicker on the screen.
