I double checked and it is certainly possible to download compressed files directly in Audrey in the /.cmp/.. directory. However there is a difference in the handling of uncompressed files and compressed files as follows:
The result of downloading uncompressed files in Audrey most of the time is a file that's executable from the start, what I like, but you have to compress the file.
The result of downloading a compressed file in Audrey is a file that's not executable from the regular directory, what I don't like, and you have to do a chmod +x first.
Either way gives a different result with a different requirement, either the compress or the chmod +x.
I wonder what the prefered way could be for most Audrey users when downloading files directly in Audrey? Who has an idea about this?
