Is there a way I can choose my own password? The meaningless group of consanants I was given is impossible to remember when i am away from home. And the "remember my password" feature does not work for me.

Once you are logged in using the "meaningless group of consanants", select Modify Profile. First 2 lines of the form allow you to enter a new password and then to verify it.
