A 3Com USB 10/100 Ethernet Adapter is on sale at TigerDirect for only $4.99! Is this the one that Audrey uses?

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?SRCCODE=BEFREE&SKU=C155-1100&sourceid=00292265835539731617/

It looks like it but I am not sure. If so, what an incredible price.

Please confirm for me.

Thanks,

Nope. That one is the 3C460B. It is not one of the 3 adapters approved by 3COM for Audrey.
It contains a Pegasus II chipset, and can not be flashed with KLSI's qttools since it needs a very specific KLSI Kawasaki chipset, nor will it work "ouf of the box."

I believe the "B-version" will work with jukebox's USB image by modifiying the QNX USB device driver on Audrey first.

If you are in need, I have a few of the authentic 3C460 (not the B version) that are brand new and pulled from kits that I found as a large lot. These are true 10 Mbps adapters that do not need to be flashed. (The also rare, 3C19250 is a 6 Mbps adapter.)

Although I probably paid way too much for the kits, I have found that they are the best performing. I'm trying to recoup some of the expense of the kits by selling off the extras. I have this link on the swap forum (where it should be), but seems appropriate here for those still looking for hassle-free, non-flashed adapters.

Thanks for offering, but I actually have what I need. I was just asking about the one I posted because

a) the price was incredible and it would have been a good investment to buy them at $4.99 and then sell them on ebay where they often go for around $36.00.

b) if they were the right model, I wanted to let my friends here know about the incredible price as soon as I saw it so that they too could save some bucks.

BUT alas, it is not compatible, so no one should buy one (I don't want to be responsible)

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I almost bought a ton of them. Whew! You just saved me a lot of headaches.

Tiger has had those since they had their Audreys (several months) in stock as well. I think they started at $14.95 and have dropped to a very good price. I know MANY people assumed the "B-Version" would work and picked them up only to be disappointed. Someone mentioned a while back that they had bought some 3C460B adapters listed on ebay as "Audrey Adapters," and they, too, were very disappointed.
The casing is nearly identical to the compatible, 3C460 except that the "B" is 10/100, and the "non-B" is 10.

Yep, I bought one awhile ago without thinking, and it didn't work with any of my Audreys.

Good thing it was cheap.

I found a compatible netgear usb/ethernet at http://www.shentech.com for only $12 shipping was reasonable too - you can usually find the best deals by checking out http://www.pricewatch.com
