Walked into the room the other day to find my audry ticking on/off/on/off loudly and the smell of burning electronics coming from the power supply! The power supply was VERY hot when I pulled it out of the wall.
After removing it from the case I see that the board around Q1 is blackened. The coil next to that is discolored too. I'm going to try to desolder it later so that I can read the writing on it to perhaps order a replacement. It's a single layer single sided board so it shouldn't be hard to fix if thats all thats the problem.
Has anyone had similar experience or done any work on these things? Or am I better off just ordering a new supply and soldering the cable from this one onto it?
