Hi All,

I'm in the process of downloading QNX 6.2. Has anyone tried using it yet? I'm not sure when it came out. I'm looking for a better Voyager browser, better NFS mounting, better tools. Maybe an easier way to create a new BIOS or IPL on the Audrey. Who knows!!

At first sight it looks we didn't get what we hoped for, no new USB devices supported in this new version... Probably improved drivers for mice, klsi and pegasus only. Some other nice stuff like Mozilla and more. I'll try it out on my PC first and find out if there is anything I can use on Audrey. On the QNX web site is an overview of what's new. Any ideas?

I'm curious what you think of the new RTP 6.2. It took me a while to install it and I had to delete my RTP's 6.0 and 6.1 before I got it to work.. The good news is this new version still works on ldqnx.so.1 and ldqnx.so.2. There maybe some features we can use in Audrey.

I have noticed that the new distribution has a fs-nfs3, looks like an updated version of fs-nfs2. Anyone try it yet?

Also, I was reading the QNX news group. It may be possible to export photon appls to unix displays.
See the copied news item below.

If you want your Photon apps display on foo, you do:

photon_apps -s /net/foo/dev/photon

fs-nfs3 has some extra features over fs-nfs2, don't know yet if it's something we really need on Audrey.
I did X Photon on Audrey (and some other people on this board too I believe) and it does work with the few X apps that exist. You have to link files, because X Photon is too large for Audrey and Audrey slows down considerably. In my opinion the only usefull app is X term, but as long as you can telnet to Audrey that seems pretty useless too.

Hey Jukebox,

I read in an earler email that you got mozilla working on the audrey, but it was a little buggy and it takes a lot of flash space.

Since I use a Linux server to put all the large stuff on and I run all overclocked Audrey's, do you think it would run OK? What kind of bugs do you find? How hard is it to setup? How do you set it up?

I'm tired of all the functionality that voyager does not support, like alerts, java plugins, and scroll windows for read only text areas. I want something better!

wambs,
It wasn't mozilla but Opera. It was in this thread http://www.linux-hacker.net/cgi-bin/UltraBoard/UltraBoard.pl?Action=ShowPost&Board=3Com_Audrey&Post=1517&Idle=0&Sort=0&Order=Descend&Page=0&Session=
Mozilla is included in RTP 6.2, but very much beta.. To download newer versions you have to register at QNX first.
