| Thanks for the insight, Infinity. All is good now. Just incase anyone is having problems merging MP3's (lack of good codex, no program, etc.) I figured out that you can use a simple HEX editor and insert a song at the beginning of another song or at the end without changing the bitrates. It's some what faster, but it CAN confuse the crap out of a Windows machine if the bit rates of the song you're merging differ greatly. So far, 128 through 192 seem to merge well, though it gives false read-outs. (Such as bitrate and time of the track.) The hex editor that I've had the best luck with is XVI32. It's free and VERY simple. You can get it at download.com After you merge the songs, then you can write it directly to the card, using Diskprobe. You dont need to pad the file like with images. All seems to work alright, though I'm sure it could just be luck.
Also, if anyone is using Audrey in their cars, like I am....you might want to take some time and check the temperatures that Audrey might be going through before you leave her in the car. In my Camaro with a black dash on a 89 degree day, the surface of the dash spent two hours at 174 degrees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats almost TWO TIMES the outside temperature. I dont know if this shockes you as much as it did me, but I now know why my radar detector became a paper-weight after a week in the sun. They said it was rated to withstand temperatures up to 125, I thought I was safe. Nope. I used an iButton attached to my dash to record the entire days temperatures and print out a graph. By the way, has anyone figured out any drivers or programs to connect an iButton reader to Audrey? Just wondering. | |
