Marimba Castanet Update Files
A question concerning the directory structure for the 3Com Ergo Audrey updates.

Hi everyone, this is my first post to this forum. Hopefully I can get some good feedback!

This weekend I ordered my first Audrey (which has not yet arrived). However, I did set up my own Marimba Castanet server so that I can update my Audrey when it arrives. Everything is working fine, however I just had a couple questions to ask.

First, I was readying on Sowbug's page (http://www.sowbug.com/audrey/hack_index.html), about the auto-updating and noticed that he has posted the directory structure of what used to be 3Com's Marimba server. However, on the mirrored servers (and mine) such as http://2-1b.artoo.net/ many of these files are not there. Also, there are a lot of files that are not listed from the original (all the ch2dir files come to mind). What is the reason behind the missing and extra files?

Also, the two updates (1.02.08.02 and 1.02.08.03) appear to be from the hacking community and not from 3Com. I think I am correct in that 1.02.08.02 is the UNIX Shell update, but what is the 1.02.08.03 update for?

Also, even if there is no point to having the extra files, is there a place where they can be obtained, simply for posterity's sake?

Once I have everything set up, and I completely understand what is going on, I am planning on writing up a step-by-step howto on getting a Castanet server running on Linux. For anyone who is interested, I am running on Red Hat Linux 7.3 under JRE 1.4.0 Hopefully that will help out all the people who want to do this in the future.

Also, I want to get my server up publically for people who want to update. However, I have all my systems sitting behind an netfilter NAT machine, and I want to keep port 80 up for my webserver. That looks like it will be a problem since Audrey expects the Marimba server there. I am looking into getting netfilter to inspect the port 80 traffic and filter it to two different machines based on the packets. If anyone has any hints for this, I'd like to know. But, I'm still a ways off from there...

Thanks to the forum for all the help, and I will keep everyone informed of what I learn.
