suddenly my Audrey email (old-school), is dieing silently when you push the email button. If I pull up a shell window, and clean out the .new files in /data/email/in, the problem goes away. Do I have a lack of free memory issue, or is bad mail?

Audrey only has 1 meg of mail storage space. It doesn't take long to burn up a meg with HTML formatted e-mail. I think one of Infinity's images had more storage space for e-mail allocated.

Well my Audrey's problem of dieing has gotten worse...virtually any mail message sent will cause Audrey's email program to silently die when you push the email button. And there are no messages in the the in, out directories (/data/email/in,/data/email/out). AND the browser is periodically stoping with a warning message of being out of space.

This smells like the flash disk is getting full, but I'm reluctant to go rm-ing lots of stuff. Anybody got an idea where to prune first? I have a CF backup from a few months ago (which I haven't used yet), but I have the sense that that will just put me back in time (so to speak) without fixing what the underlying problem is.

same thing happens to me after a few months. Flashing is the only fix i know.

For the unix gurus out there, when I "df" this is what I get:

/dev/fs1p0 8064 778 7285 10% /tmp
/dev/fs1 8192 8192 0 100%
/dev/fs0 512 512 0 100% /dev/fs0p2
/dev/fs0p1 30976 28941 2034 94% /
/def/fs0 1024 1024 0 100% /dev/fs0p0
/def/fs0 32768 32768 0 100%

I suspect some of those 100% are my problem...I've forgotten anything I ever new about the physical and logical disk arrangements in Audrey (I guess I need to reread a lot of the stuff on the BB here), but if anyone has a clue I'd appreciate sharing...I'm going to flash back to my save image (a backup of a few months back) and see if it's any better.

ugh, I reflashed the Audrey from my backup, and it has the same problem...I guess I'll need to go through the heartache of loading an image on the CF and flashing that...not today's project, though.
