Firstly I'd like to say that I don't own an Audrey (yet!) but was thinking that if it had a built in modem and a microphone input (it does have on - right?)... Is it possible to turn it into a hands free telephone?
Since it hasn't been discussed before I would assume that either it's too hard to write the software or the hardware is not capable of such a thing. It would probably require some connection between the sound card and the modem - correct?
It doesn't have a voice modem. It's just a regular data modem that refuses to stay connected without a carrier signal (i.e a modem on the other end of the phone line). I didn't try anything else, so it still might be possible with a lot more work.-- Jim ACID and other Audrey apps
Thanks for the info.
I was just thinking out loud. Seems it *may* be possible with an extremly large hardware hack. Not something I'm contemplating.
The callerID program looks interesting - wish I had an Audrey to play with. :(
