Failed flash of Cais "3c460a"

I tried flashing my Cais USB ethernet adapter, but it pretty much just sat there during the flash stage. I followed the instructions listed on another thread of this forum, but when it got down to the "30 seconds that feel like an eternity", I let it sit for 30 MINUTES and it still didnt complete. I had to kill the program, and now windows cannot recognize the adapter.

Does anyone know of a way (short of an EEPROM burner or just buying another adapter) to re-flash the nic with a working firmware?

Thanks!!!

If this is the adapter that the guy on Fleabay is selling....
I noticed he originally sold them as Audrey Adapters, then a month later just sold them as 3COM 3C460 adapters that were badged with the Cais name. This makes me think that he had lots of problems from buyers complaining that the adapters were indeed NOT compatible. SO, I wonder if the adapter even has the correct Kawasaki chipset. I have flashed 3 different brands of adapters, and even flashed a 3COM 3C19250 back to its original VID & PID after messing it up once.
Have you been able to flash any other brands? The 3C460's I've used worked out of the box with no flash needed.

If you were able to flash back to an original bin, any way I can gleen some instructions off of you? At this point my machine cant "see" the USB adapter at all, it gets installed as "Unknown Device" and as such when I try to install drivers for it any driver fails because they arent for "Unknown Device".

Further than that, I dont know if it is the correct Kawasaki chipset, but it was on Ebay (not the seller you mentioned) as a 3c460 rebadged (logically deducing the "a" because it was only 10 mbit).

The reason I think they didnt work out of the box is because the VID and PID are different than stock 3com stuff. Someone here said they have a different chipset, but one that works with Audrey.........they have instructions on how to get it to work here: http://delsarto.tripod.com/audrey/
