I recently purchased an Audrey, and a 3C19250 Ethernet adapter. This adapter continuously prompts the "Audrey can't find your USB ethernet adadptor. . ." error. A connection is being shown on the adapter end, but not on my network hub. I have run both macparse and qtexercz on it. According to qtexercz, the smalli2c does not exist ("the length was zero"). According to macparse, it is all zeros. These seem to agree, but with either program i cannot change these. Any help would be fantastic.

I was having the same problem. Just bought a brand spankin' new, out of the box, fresh 3C19250, pluged it in and got the old "USB device" error. While everything looks the same on the outside, appearantly it's a different version inside. Have no fear though, flash it using the directions at http://delsarto.tripod.com/audrey/ and you're in business. In my case, the VID was 03E8 and PID 0010. To find out what yours is on an XP machine (not sure about other OS's) plug in the adapter and try installing. When it can't find the software driver click finish and then select the more info link. It lists the VID and PID there. Change the inf file, install on the Win box, reflash the EEPROM, plug into Audrey and away you go. Hope this helps!

The problem I'm having is that my PC will not even recognize the adaptor when it's plugged in either. Somehow, the eeprom is blank, and I cannot get it to rewrite the correct information. With no information there, macparse and qtexercz do not seem to be able to reprogram the eeprom. After I click "Write eeprom" and click "read eeprom" to see if the changes have taken place all values are zeros, and the last line says "could not read I2C". I'm not sure if my adaptor is defective, or if there is a setting in macparse that i have incorrect (although i think i have tried all combinations of settings).

For whatever reason, i cannot get either eeprom reprogramming program (macparse or qtexercz) to read my USB port. Anyone reprogram on a dell with win xp?

So when you plug the adapter into your XP machine, does it see that there is a device to install?

If so, go all the way through the install process to the point where XP can't find the software for the device, click finish, and then the more info link. In the page that comes back you should see a VID and a PID listed about halfway down. You must use these when editing the QTProg.inf file. XP can then tie the "software" to the device.

If not, check the device manager to see if it is hanging out in there waiting for drivers (you have to do this with it still plugged in). If you see it, remove the entry, unplug the device and try again.

Hope that helps...
