fs-cifs error
io_mount:smb_connection failed:Bad file descriptor

Hey folks,

When I try to connect Audrey to my WinXp Pro computer usinf fs-cifs I get an error with smb.
For computer name 'xppro', share name /music I enter the following:

fs-cifs -a //xppro:192.168.1.102:/music /music guest guest

I receive the following response:

io_mount:smb_connection failed:Bad file descriptor

Following another thread I used the flags -avv, which shows that Audrey connected to my XP, and accepted the username. Am I correct in assuming this problem is related to establishing the link to my /music share?
I've done some looking around and can't find any hits on this error message.
Can any of you good folks offer any suggestions?

Much appreciated,
Mike

Actually, I finally found the answer -

In Windows Event Viewer/System I was receiving Event ID 2011, SRV, complaining about the IRPStackSize. A look on M$'s support site had the following reg hack:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;177078

I am running Norton AV on that machine, though a much newer version. I never received this messaeg until I tried fs-cifs. Anyway since it appeared to be a harmless adjustment, I tried it and sure enough, success!

Thanks to all -
Mike
