Hello there,

Thanks again to Steven Grimm for such an excellent Audrey application! I tried using the Infinity images for a while with DaVinci27's implementation of Phjuke but the size of the buttons on the UI was just unusable... so back the original modified Audrey image with the command line.

Recently I have purchased an 250GB WD HDD and am going through the process of sorting out the MP3 collection. It occured to me that since I partitioned the drive into two - the first less then 137GB, the second being the remainder, I may encounter problems with the SMB share with the Phjuke application.

Is is possible to use fs-cifs to map more than one logical drive or partition to an Audrey directory share? I've already dumped 45GB of my music collection and need to know if I need to reformat and start again if multiple shares are not possible.

Hope someone can point me in the right direction!

As far as I know you should be able to mount your shares with multiple disks and partitions . I am running WIN98 and it works fine. It all comes down to the share name. As long as you have that right it should work. FYI - I have a 20GB and 30GB hard drive.

eban - thanks!

I can see my two shares using Phjuke to specify the "Starting directory for browser" (Command>>Settings) using /mp3_cds and /mp3 seperately but ideally I'd like to have both partitions (shares) shown in the Phjuke home page.

eban - do you specify a single share name for both 20GB and 30GB hard drives? Is it possible to map more then one Windows shared directories to the Audrey share name?

I don't think exactly what you want to do is possible, but you can mount a whole disk volume as a Windows directory. But everything in that directory will be on the other disk.

For example (this probably explains better than my earlier sentences): you could have a C:\MP3 as an actual directory on your C drive. Then mount the other partition as C:\MP3\Extra. Share C:\MP3 as \SERVERNAME\MP3 and then anything in the Extra directory will actually be coming off your second partition. I've done this before (but not for MP3s, I mounted my old boot partition before upgrading from XP Pro to Server 2003 as C:\OldSys to pull off some driver files). I think this is available in Windows 2000 and up.

The SliMP3 Server software which is used for my SliMP3 appliances supports Windows shortcuts. The server software interprets them just like directories. So you can have C:\MP3 only contain shortcut files to D:\MP3, E:\MP3, and F:\MP3, etc... It also organizes by tag in its library independent of actual disk layout, so unless you're browsing the folders through its interface, you won't even know where they are anyway.

Cade - thanks!

I'll try mounting the whole volume as a Windows share and see if fs-cifs likes that! Note sure what you mean by "But everything in that directory will be on the other disk."??

I just meant that when you mount a partition as a directory, everything in that directory is in that partition and vice versa. You can't mount two partitions as the same name or have some of the files in a directory be on the partition and some be on the local drive.
