Hello all,
First, thanks for all the great images and info, its great.

So, I want to set up my Audrey as a Cieva-like digital picture frame.

1. weekly dial out to the internet, automatically connect and disconnect
2. ftp new files to the internal storage
3. cycle through them with 'frame'
4. turn screen on/off at various times of the day

So, I have all of the above EXCEPT 1. working. I am using Infinity image.

Any suggestions (or a file I am missing) to, under .sh file control, cause a 'Connect' to the Internet, then a disconnect after 2. is done?

Thanks in advance.

I would really like the same thing. Considering Ceiva is getting $125 for the unit & $8/mo. for subscriptions, seems like a good market for an Audrey entrepreneur!!!

Bump. Any thoughts?

If not internet connection, what about a simply slide show from a CF card that was either inserted & downloaded to internal storage or whatever was on the CF card.

This is what I would try Bob, read this link, then set a specific time say once a week. Put a line in the kcron file telling it to run the email checker once at that specific time each week. Then on the next line put in a line with same time or maybe one minute after that starts your download program. The idea being that the email checking program gets you online then the download program or script runs assuming you are already online. I don't think you have to worry about the disconnect the audrey would probably take care of that. Because you are using Infinity it might be cron instead of kcron.

The above 4 steps are exactly what I want. However, I don't have much time to play with it, and want it working for xmas... did you finally get it to work? Could you give us some pointer for each step?

Thank,
Charles.
