Time Server
No time From Servers

Hello all
I read the posts as often as I can
I'm using infinity image. (1.1s I think)
Lately I've been booting her and it takes a long time "getting time and date"
and then it gives up and and asks me to type it in.
I went to /config timeserver0 and edited it to time.nist.gov and nogo
originally it was at ntp.css.gov
I'v also tried some other address for time servers to no avail.
Any Ideas out there?

Thanks
Ed

time-a & time-b.nist.gov (MD), time-a & time-b & time-c.timefreq.bldrdoc.gov (CO), ntp.nasa.gov (NASA), ntp2.usno.navy.nil (Navy)

If those aren't working, something is wrong with your time service.

I tried the servers you listed but still no time
i'm editing timeserver0 and timeserver1 and timeserver2
in the /config directory.
I'm using the editor that came with the infinity image not
VI.
How do i find a problem with time server as suggested.
thanks

Hmm, first before I get in deeper than I know how to help, let me ask a few obvious questions that may simplify the process...

1. Can you surf internet sites from your audrey like before? If not, fix that :)
2. If you can surf fine, I'd suggest making a backup image of your audrey and then reflashing the thing again. If that still doesn't work, something is wrong in your ip settings most likely..

Though it is possible using the built-in editor VI vs. the image-supplied editor somehow mangles some files. Have you tried opening up the file in VI, changing the time server back to what it was before and saving the changes?

I'm no linux help, and I think you're in the right place to look for help in that area. I'm more about "it was working originally" and then putting back that way.

If you've already tried all this, wish I could tell you more. Sounds like something with your tcp/ip settings or maybe DNS / gateway issues. Changed any major network hardware lately?

Your are actually using /config/Timeserver0 1 & 2 and not /config/timeserver0 1 & 2 ... right?

Being a *nix type of system, the file names are case sensitive.
