I am thinking of using Audreys as a cheap point-of-sale terminal. I think I can program the "order entry form" just fine (but you tell me if not!). I will build a box around the Audrey and/or otherwise repackage it, to disable physical access to the buttons.

What I have not been able to figure out is how/if I can use a USB or other (serial?) credit-card swiper on the Audrey. Is this feasible? Or do I need to look into another way to get cards, uh, swiped? The Audreys would be on a small LAN with a PC server, so I suppose I could hook up all the swipers to the PC.

Has anyone done anything like this? All suggestions welcome.
