Hello there,

I've been using Phjuke for a while for our home MP3 server and the Audrey works great - this is the only use we have of the Audrey at present. What I would like to know is how to prevent the Phjuke application from being "over-ridden" by the Audrey "Welcome" screen. What I mean is best served by an example - I start Phjuke from the QNX command line, it starts and connects to our MP3 server via a Windows share. The playlist plays and then a period of time later the Audrey "Welcome" screen is displayed. I can still hear my playlist but I cannot can back to the console without going <> to "Audrey Options" and then "Console"... start Phjuke again... and once again I have my Phjuke GUI back...

What I have noticed is after doing this repeated times the Audrey responds with "Cannot find a pseudo tty" - which suggests to me that I'm either creating multiple consoles or multiple instances of Phjuke. Either way when the Audrey reaches this point I can only reboot the Audrey to get back to normal.

So I read the previous posting about using nice and reice at the command line, thinking that this would be the solution. However I get the following message when trying to use the nice command:

"/nto/bin/nice:syntax error: `(' unexpected"

Am I installing the files or setting the permissions wrong?

I found these instructions on the web somewhere(!) - are these correct?

"Download utilities, renice will allow you to change priorities, nice will allow you to set priorities of apps and use "app-name" gives you a manual on screen:

Download renice and "Save as" renice in /.cmp/nto/bin
Download nice and "Save as" nice in /.cmp/nto/bin
Download use and "Save as" use in /.cmp/nto/bin
***** Don't forget to chmod +x these utilities in their regular directory without /.cmp *****

For serious MP3 playing I recommend using phjuke. Start original phjuke as follows:
nice -n-5 /yourshare/phjuke (Replace yourshare with the name of your share) and MP3 playing will work like a charm. Or even better use the new and better phjuke from davinci, using renice."

From above, ****** What does this mean? Do the reice, nice and use need to be saved to /nto/bin also??? *****

I hope someone can help here, otherwise the Audrey may have be replaced with a PC based touchscreen of sorts!
