Is there any reason why a 802.11b compact flash adaptor with QNX drivers wouldn't work with an image by jukebox or infinity? Am I ignorant, and there is a simple reason why not.
thanks

I know there are drivers for the prism chipset, for qnx. Dont know if the sony uses that chipset. There are cf wifi card made by z-com that use the prism chipset.

Since nobody else has replied here, I'll add what I know, even though it's months later.

To the best of my knowledge, it can't be done. Here's why. 3Com didn't actually implement a proper PCMCIA slot into the Audrey, as it was never intended to be used for expansion. They included just enough hardware to connect to be able to read/write to a CF card, but all the interface is done by the uP, not by a normal interface chip. Consequently, it is just barely possible to mount a CF card as an expansion drive (and it has been done, with the limit that you can only access 1 file), but it's really not possible to use any other types of hardware.

The USB bus is not much better. I don't know of anyone who's been able to mount a wireless USB adaptor directly either. Everyone I know who's using wireless (myself included) goes from a supported USB/Ethernet adaptor to an AP such as the WAP11 or similar

Hello - I just pulled my wife's audrey out of the closet to see if I could get a wireless connection. Sounds like I need to goe from a supported USB/Ethernet adaptor to an AP such as the WAP11 or similar. Do I need to download drivers? Can you provide the basic steps to get going. I current have a netgear wireless router...I connect my laptop with an 802.11 card. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

That's essentially right. I've done it with the Mitsumi Wavit11, which uses it's own setup program. I'm not sure how other Wireless Access Points are set up, but you should have the WAP working before plugging it into Audrey.

Anyway -- the connection goes Audrey -> Supported USB-Ethernet connector -> Wireless access point.

If they're all configured properly, once you tell Audrey there's an ethernet control (in Audrey Options), it should just work. Audrey doesn't need any additional drivers, but you might need something to set up your WAP, depending on which one you use.
