Here is EXACTLY what you have to do:

1. Get a 32mb CF card, I got a sandisk shoot&share one of ebay dirt cheap
2. Go here: http://www.winappslist.com/utilities/disk_utilities1.htm
2a. Download Diskchecker 3.1
3. Format your 32mb card in XP using FAT
4. Run disk checker, look at your card, it will show sectors (I know all kinds of other ways to get that but NOTHING else worked!)
5. Multiply that # by 512, my lucky # was 32080384, use mkcf.exe to make your image this size (instructions all over the web for this)
6. After that I was using ntrw to write my images and was getting past the invalid image, but onto a bad checksum error
7. So, download diskprobe (available all over the web)
8. Right click on diskprobe and set compatibility mode to windows 2000
9. Goto Admin Tools in control panel, then Computer management, then goto storage, select removable storage, then libraries. Find your CF card, right click on properties and get the Physical drive # - this is important, don't mess this up!
10. Run diskprobe, open your physical drive # corresponding to your CF card up for writing
11. Open your image created with mkcf to the proper size
12. Write that puppy to the drive.

That should do it...
I tried dd, ntrw, every trick in the book to get the size of my CF and nothing worked except the shareware program above.
I then tried just normal diskprobe and ntwr and it didn't work... in my last shot I tried all of the above and my audrey is now updated. I'll make a page with some screen shots in the coming days...

Best of luck all and let me know if this works for others!

Chris

Greetings Chris,
I started going through your steps and realized that the image that I was using (I think) was already formatted. I downloaded infinityultimate's last release from March 2003 and it is a CF file and it does not unzip. So my question is... With this type of file can I just "drop" it onto the Compact Flash card after I have formatted it with FAT?
My Audrey is the original version and doesnt have pterm so Im pretty limited, havent even found a way to back it up before I attempt this... so im a little uneasy. Sounds like you have spent a great deal of time with this so hoping you may have an answer.
Thanks in advance,
Jeff

I followed your process and was not successful.

Download infinityultimate1.1s.cf
Find out the number of sectors on my flash card using diskchecker.
Ran mkcf to convert the cf image into the right size
Installs dskprobe from Windows Support Tools, changed the compatibility mode to 2000
Found the physical disk number and opened the new CF file and wrote it.

Inserted flash
Pressed Datebook and powered on the unit

Got an invalid image.
Am I missing something?

Anyone have luck with imaging a infiniti image using this method?

I have tried using ntrw and it didn't work for me either. What am I missing here.

TIA

Figured it out. Dug through a lot of posts in the forum.
Basically, it came down to finding the right size of the flash.
The trick to do that is to write a larger file into the flash, then reading that file back to find out what size was read.

mkcf image.cf large.cf 40000000 (assuming you have a 32 meg flash)
ntrw write large.cf j: (j: is my flash drive)
ntrw read whatsizewasit.cf j:
(this will display how large the file it was read, this is the number that you need to expand the image.cf to ie. 32123123)
mkcf image.cf goodsize.cf 32123123
ntrw write goodsize.cj j:

The process of writing a larger file to the CF card solved my problem upgrading my Audrey.
Thanks
