Just got an Audrey and can't connect to the internet. It's loaded with the 'QNX Audrey Platform' from http://www.prins.net/audrey/. I've read (here & elsewhere) and poked around yet can't seem to find why the Audrey won't connect. I hooked up the usb ethernet adapter to my computer and was able to see it - it is the correct one - 10Mbps not 100. While new to the Audrey, I'm somewhat familiar w/*nix variants yet I'm not strong on the config end of things.
I currently have no ability to get a cf image from my computer to the Audrey. I'm working on getting the ability as I believe the Infinty Ultimate image may fit my usage more appropriately tha what's currently on the Audrey.
Some particulars:
-the system profile always says dialup is enabled.
-I haven't tried dialup as I don't have an account
-The audrey is updated to the final image (of course)

Just tried dial-up (was able to borrow a friend's) and it didn't work. However, Caller ID worked, could that cause an inabilty to connect with modem? ACID wasn't running when I tried dial-up.

stuart: Does your Audrey recognize any devices connected to the USB ports at all? The USB ports and the modem connection are built onto a daughterboard that connects with pins from Audrey's motherboard. Sometimes (especially after long periods without use) the daughterboard can be a bit "iffy" and needs some "encouragement". Here's something simple you can try. Remove the translucent cable cover from the back and place Audrey face down on a firm surface covered with a towel to help protect the touchscreen. Firmly but gently press down on the back near the connectors to re-seat the daughterboard. If that doesn't cure it, you might need to disassemble your unit and remove/reseat the daughterboard.

You asked - Does your Audrey recognize any devices connected to the USB ports at all?
In the dev/ directory I see usbenet0 when the adaptor is plugged in and it's not there when I unplug it. I didn't think to check until you asked (I blame teething baby keeping me up all night.) I'm starting to feel that the image is fooed somehow, either corrupt or configured wrong. I've cf ordered (32mb SanDisk) so I'll be able to fix or rule out that possibilty. I tried the first part of your daughterboard hint but I'm not able to take it apart for the next few days.
Thanks!

RE:DNS Failure using 3Com USB adapter (modified 0 times)
If usbenet0 shows up on connection, then it's not likely a daughterboard connection issue. My Audreys are all packed away these days, but I remember the USB connections always being fussy. Be certain to try all of the USB ports at least twice. Good luck with it!!

RE:DNS Failure using 3Com USB adapter - fixed (modified 0 times)
I'm having the same problem with the same image. Did you redownload it, rebuild it, or what? I reflashed my Audrey a few time and still no dice. I reflashed the 32Mb card from my PC each time. The dialer keeps popping up. (I put a completely different image on it and there was connectivity and I could get to websites fine).
Thanks,
Mike
