Hello,
I am sad to report that my audrey appears to be dead.
or does it?

I was messing around with my Audrey well over a year ago, and found it to be dead. plugging it in, it would make a clicking noise, the backlight would sometimes turn on, but that was it.

I was bored today and got it out. plugged it in first time, and it worked! it asked me to set time, and some other things.

Now, however, it again appears dead. but when i unplug it, it makes a click.

i've read that it needs to be reflashed.

my question is, can i reflash it FROM linux? (yes i know i need to use an audrey image, im checking out infintyS1.1 ultra or whatever it is) but how can i do this from a linux machine? is it just copying the .cf to a cf card? or is it deeper?

any help would be apprecated on either manner.

Sounds like your unit has the 'fails to boot' syndrome after it updated to the final firmware. I would try to flash it with one of the other firmware alternatives out there like Ultimate. If it's already running non-factory firmware, then you might want to apply a little pressure to the CPU. Instead of the standard CPU pins, the Geode used what's called BGA (Ball Grid Array) and there are some issues if the solder isn't heated enough to make a good permanent contact. Hopefully it's just a case of your firmware needing to have a clean install.
