I've bought a couple of Audreys off of e-bay and both have already been hacked with an updated image.
What I'm wondering is if there is anywhere to get an original Audrey image so I can put at least one of these machines back to it's original state.
I'd just like to see what the Audry had to offer in its original configuration. I understand that the original functionality is only a fraction of what the Audrey can do and that some of the things are fairly outdated, but I'm really not liking the "shelf" very much. It's very 1995 and a pretty non-user-friendly front-end for what's supposed to be an easy to use internet appliance.
I guess, in short it seems to me that booting into the shelf pretty much destroys the spirit of what the Audrey is supposed to be.
I guess I could settle for having the Audrey start up in the e-mail application or a channel on the Browser and just have the shelf as an executable that I can get to from the menu or something but I'd still like to see what the Audrey originally had to offer in its "virgin" state...
