1. Whenever the Audrey reboots, the clock is reset to 12/30/2000 and then it brings me to the startup screen.
I'm taking it that this is not normal. Although I just got it, I understand this is still under warranty. What would 3com do for a warranty? Can it be replaced, hopefully with one with newer softward?

2. There seems to be no setting for telling Audrey to leave my mail on the server. She seems to delete it, but I just saw one that she left on the server. What gives? I know under the newer software that this can be done, but I know I have the older software (the header shows Mozilla, no mention of Audery).

3. I saw people post software version numbers. Where does one obtain this information/

Thanks
Holycrap

what is making your audrey "reboot?" are you actually unplugging it? Mine simply goes into "sleep mode" when left alone or power it off (not unplug). If i unplug, then it goes through everything again. I read here that leaving unplugged for a good amount of time ( i think hours) will cause it to lose certain settings.
Do you also lose calendar and address entries?
3COM should still honor the warranty. With so many of these hitting the market, we should group together and request some software updates as well.

As far as warranty goes, there's a sticker on the box of one of my that reads, in part:

"This product is sold 'as is'. Under no circumstances shall company be liable for any warranty, support or service of any kind, either express or implied, including without limitation the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement..."

I think if you bought one before they were being dumped, your option was to get a refund from 3com - the warranty for those was probably cancelled at that time (though I don't know that for sure).

Note: I got mine through n34634 so it came direct from 3com after they stopped supporting it. I don't know if the ones showing up on ubid also have the sticker but I wouldn't count on any warranty.

A resetting clock is normal. Note that an Audrey "reboots" only when it's unplugged -- there isn't any reset switch, and, miraculously, it just doesn't seem to crash. There isn't any battery-backed hardware clock, so the Audrey always queries an Internet time server when it starts up.

This seems like a questionable design decision, but when you think about the normal use case -- plug it in as you would a TV or toaster oven and leave it -- in theory the Audrey should reboot only once in its entire lifetime. (Exception: I believe that software upgrades trigger a reboot, but that's rare, too, and as far as I can tell it happens only at night when you're not using it.)

So, in the unlikely event that 3Com honored your warranty with a replacement device, you'd find that your new Audrey behaved the same way.

P.S. Get the version number by looking at the Audrey profile (action, Audrey options, about Audrey, profile).

For months now I can not get any of my Audreys (7) to auto clock set via the internet. Is anyone having this problem? I use a network. I am wondering if I have some firewall setting that might be blocking this action. Maybe I need to open a port or something.. Any ideas out there? Thanks
