I have an X10 system with a couple of light modules and transceiver as well as a com port dongle transmitter. I put together a very basic jsp web page that runs under tomcat on my desktop machine. From the audrey I can control these few lights I found some java packages on the web that implements com ports and the X10 protocol for the com port dongle. The web page is very basic but I think its cool to turn lights on and off from the audrey. iI anyone is interested I can zip the stuff together for them.

I have a firecracker (and the other bigger C-something transceiver), I'll give it a shot.

Has anybody got X10 Firecracker working on Audrey yet?

I've got a Unix source code for Flipit from the net, did not compile on QNX 6.0 straight away though. After some very minor modification to the source code I was able to compile it on the QNX 6.0 running on my PC.

I attached Firecracker to COM1 to the PC and tried sending some X10 stuff. Homeseer picked it up and everything worked.

But....

Moved Firecracker and Flipit to Audrey and no action.
On the Audrey I made sure that
- sync daemon is disable
- check stty on the ser1, same as the one on the PC

I've been reading the external modem treads and seems that ser1 is a NORMAL serial port, so Firecracker should work.

Any advise would be much appreciated.

Just in case anybody want to know why I want to use Firecracker. There's some part in the house that quite difficult to run a CAT5 to. And I want to use Audrey as only an X10 transmitter (+ many other things that does not required Network connection), using Flash4 as an interface.

Don't know if you've done this, but you may need to set up the serial port with something like:

stty baud=9600 bits=8 < /dev/ser1

of course with the correct params for your device.

I saw this thread here that basically said, Audrey needs 2 physical serial ports unless a firecracker HW hack can be done. http://audrey.mypanfora.com/cgi-bin/Forum.cgi?fid=Audrey

It’s under Home Automation...
