Can I directly connect ePods to dsl modem (via ethernet card)?
How do I connect via PPPOE on epods?

New MessageCan I directly connect ePods to dsl modem (via ethernet card)? (modified 0 times) busdepot
Can I connect a DSL modem (in my case a Nortel 1-meg) directly to my epods via an ethernet connection? Note, I am _not_ trying to connect via a network to an existing modem that's already hooked to another computer. Rather I am trying to connect directly from my epods to a standalone dsl modem that I have designated just for the epods. My ISP uses PPPOE (point-to-point-over-ethernet) protocol, and sent me software called WinPoET, but it's not WinCE compatable. So I suppose I will need to establish the PPPOE connection via some other utility, but I don't know how. Can remnet do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

sorry. I didn't see the PPPoE. I don't think that will work. I don't know of any WinCE software for it...

Yes, sorta.

You need something to handle the PPPoE for you. There isn't, to my knowledge, such an animal for CE. However, there are a number of inexpensive routers out there that will handle this part for you. The ever popular Linksys routers come to mind. Once this is setup, the internet becomes just another destination via your gateway/router. This also has the side benefit of allowing you to connect potentially hundreds of other computers to the internet via one external IP address.
