Oh, $#!%, funky ePods....

New MessageOh, $#!%, funky ePods.... (modified 0 times) SiliconIce
Well...
I did a soft reset and my ePods came up with no sound. Minor problem.
Then I noticed that neither my flash in the CF slot or my MicroDrive in the PCMCIA slot are recognized.
I got them back by resetting a few times and pulling in and out.

Now the BIG problem (the others are still not fixed)
ALL flash is not visible in the MyEpods. This includes the ROM (WinCE_files or whatever it is called).

I am too scared to Hard-Reset because I can not see the ROM!!!
What in the heck is going on!?

Pull all cards out -- do a hard reset and rebuild your unit. That should solve the problem.

This exact thing happened to me a couple of times. I think it is a memory issue. I fixed it by changing the memory allocation in the System control panel to include more memory for open applications, then doing a soft reset. It fixed it both times.

Hope this helps.

If I can't see the ROM from the ePods, is it safe to do a Hard Reset?

I don't know if the ROM is corrupted since I can't see it right now.

I am reluctant to do a hard unless I am sure the ROM is not completely unrecognizable...

Oh, and the Keyboard does not work either.
No KB, No sound, No flash, no PCMCIA, no ROM..........bad.

Well, I gave some more memory to the storage section, did some roft resets, removed the cards, and all appears to be well...
