| Pen computing has been around for a long time.. I saw a tablet computer with touchscreen back in 1996 made by some non-pc manufacturer at a wireless network demo at AT&T, and wanted one ever since. It was based on a 486 chip, and was a bit larger than the epods, and only monochrome.
The guy at AT&T slapped in an original WaveLAN card, and used Windows 3.11 (not CE) chat to demonstrate how wireless networking worked, and chatted with me while I was on a wired PC. He then went for a walk through his building with his tablet, all the while sending me messages in chat to let me know where he was. | |
