Wasted ePods (2.04 hack)

New MessageWasted ePods (2.04 hack) (modified 0 times) Orjan
Now my epods comes back with just a white screen after the final cold-reset. Looks like I've rendered my system useless.
Is there any way I can recover this useless piece of crap?

Pissed..very much indeed.

I could have put this the nasty way, or the nice way. Given the tone of your post, I'm not sure why I chose the latter.

You're going to need to READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. They say, quite clearly, that if you don't get the blue screen after the hard reset, you need to keep reimporting the registry and reseting until you do.

JamesW,

I've hard reset the thing now about 15-20 times. All I get when it starts is a white, emtpy screen (ok I get the message asking whether I like to run the CF card on battery power, but that's the only thing I can see).
I thought you had to have access to the registry editor to reimport the registry? Or did I get that wrong? Perhaps reimporting registry means hard-resetting the thing?

Thanks for your input.

Orjan,
After performing a hard-reset (which consists of holding the power button and pushing the reset button in the back), you will probably get a white screen, but your task bar functions should remain operational. Click on Start/Programs/System/Tascal Reg Edit. Open Tascal Reg Edit and select Registry/Import Registry File... . Path your search to the location of the V204.REG, select it and hit OK. To be on the safe side, repeat these steps two more times. After the third import, close Tascal Reg Edit and perform a SOFT-RESET (with power remaining on, push the reset button in the back). If the v2.04 hack was performed correctly, you should get the blue ePods screen now.

Also, please note that you may have to recalibrate the stylus touch screen sensitivity each time you perform a hard-reset. Hope this helps. And next time, refrain from the emotional euphemisms when posting to this BBS. This board is for sharing ePods experience, not venting. Thanks.

Hey, and thanks for the lifeline. I was so certain I had corrupted the whole thing.
Sorry for the language.
