V2.04 Hack: Results and Questions

New MessageV2.04 Hack: Results and Questions (modified 0 times) Durnik
To all,

my thanks to all for the tidbits of information spread throughout this board and the web pages. However, after the doing the 2.04 hack <and searching the board> I have a few questions that hopefully some of the more experienced members can answer or at least confirm:

1) The 2.04 full hack, no matter what I do <and trust me, I've done the import/reset routine quite a few times> a hard reset puts me back to the 'white' screen and I have to do the reg import once again and a *soft* reset to get back to normal. I've seen this also in other posts but the web page(s) seem to imply that a hard reset is possible without the import. Which is correct? a) Hard reset = re-import, or b) I've not done it correctly?

2) With a hard reset I have to re-import the reg <see above>, this causes me to lose all my reg entries (adding a linksys wireless card, info information, double click speed, Etc.). Should I export my working registry and save that for import if I ever have to do a hard reset again?

3) Assuming I can/should save my own registry, where should I copy/save my binaries <ie4, wireless drivers, etc.> in order to have them copied back over? Is it the /ifc directory?

Thanks to all for the wonderful information (and Glitch, look for another memory upgrade service order to come through soon)

Thanks,
Durnik
