What app are you running on the Epod Side? Run PC Link, the choice of which port it uses to connect is in CONTROL PANEL -> COMMUNICATIONS

Also, REMINET is a good lace to check ur settings.

You gotta have ActiveSync on the desktop searching for the ePods at the same time you click the PCLink.lnk icon on your ePods. Once you do this for the first time, you should be able to Sync just by clicking the icon on your ePods. I had trouble with this because the instructions on the hack page don't make this clear at all. I thought I had a bad cable or something, but it was just because the desktop and ePods weren't searching for each other at the same time. I hope this helps.

Check your desktop COM port speed settings under Device Manager and make sure those speeds are identical to the link you're using on the ePods. You may want to try to create a new connection for PCLink.lnk to use (you can also do this to increase the transfer speed from the default 19.2 K). Here's how:

1. Tap on the FILES icon and navigate to the Windows directory.
2. Run the 'remnet.exe' application.
3. Tap on Create a New Connection.
4. Specify a name for the new connection, and make it a 'Direct Connection'
5. Set your device to Serial Cable on COM1: and then tap the Configure... Button.
6. Set the desired baud rate. I am able to connect at 115200, but 57600 seems more reliable.
7. Exit all the way out, back to the ePods shell.
8. Tap on the SETTINGS icon and then tap on Communications.
9. Select the PC Connection tab and tap the Change... button.
10. Select your newly created connection in the list box and tap OK.
11. You may have to reboot your PC or at least break the connection, but from now on the PC-Link will operate at the new higher speed.

Good luck!

Just noticed from your first post you have your parity on ePods set at 1. Try this config on the ePods instead:

Data bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop Bits: 1
Flow Control: Hardware
All check boxes should be unchecked

I am having the same trouble. Activesync will not recognize the epods. Has anyone figured this one out yet?

Yes, after a full reinstall of WIn98 (in which 115 was working perfectly beforehand)

Its important to let the PC LINK fail the first time (4 retrys). The second attempt works almost instantly.

Also, Use Xon/Xoff on the PC and HARDWARD Flow control on the EPODS.

Try a differant modem cable.. the pin out has to be standard. Some modem cables will not work. Happened to me. RS has a modem cable that does work. The null modem adapter they have also has the correct pin out.
