Looks like Nadapc.com has changed its strategy once again
They're not doing the advanced "ePods"-like thing after all.

A quick trip over to NadaPC.com reveals that they will no longer "give away" (in exchange for 3 years ISP service, that is) the advanced version of the ePods. They also seem to have quit promoting that huge HDTV/internet TV as well. In their place is the new "iTV" all-in-one 13" TV with built-in internet.

My question is: Did they ever ship a single unit to consumers?

Here's more information regarding the "iTV" unit that NadaPC.com wants to trade for their 3-year ISP commitment:

IMHO NADA PC is smoke and mirrors. Ask yourself a few questions:
When are they going to ship? If they bought the remaining eZEX inventory in October then they should have shipped by now. I doubt that they even have a contract with eZEX. I will bet MLN( My Left ...).

NADA PC is known for promoting products that they do not own or have the rights. I heard of one company that had to threaten legal action to get them to quit promoting a product that they did not have the rights to sell.

If they have customers, how come there is not a "Hack Site" yet?

Thousands of customers signed up to get an iMAC for free from them. They never got product.

Surfboard brand name is owned Motorola for modems. Nadapc will be sued if they ship product.

Did you notice that they actually use the sames product images from the ePods web site to show the product. They just put their logo on the screen. Why not shoot their own photos?

Interesting stuff from the NADAPC order page. They never say when you'll get the product until after you give them your credit card. They also ask for the following:

Social Security Number
Date of Birth
Gender (male or female)

From the FAQ section:
Can I purchase a SurfBoard?
We are reserving all of the near-term production of the SurfBoard to satisfy our new membership. Consequently, there are no SurfBoard devices available for sale through NadaPC

When will I receive my SurfBoard?
We'll start shipping the SurfBoard in late March 2001. Once you sign up, you will receive an email confirmation with complete shipping information.

How much is shipping and handling?
Shipping and handling for your SurfBoard is just $59.99

I tried to order for 21.99/month. They declined my credit in 2 seconds and offered to sell the upfront payment plan for $689

The one thing they are good at is generating press. Other than that, I do not get it.

So, I hate to burst your bubble however people who order fropm Nadapc will get "NADA".

Just my opinion.

Randy,
Sorry i didn't check the link out first. IMHO, these guys are snakes. They will try a new product and see if anyone is stupid enough to jump on it. After they get some interest. They will try to find someone to fund them and to buy the inventory.

I think the set they are showing is by Bush. I have seen it before.

Agreed, that company is really slimy. I remember the free iMac promotion that didn't pan out. Then it was free iCEBOX units -- now apparently marketed by cmiWorldwide here. (Incidentally, did cmi ever ship these?) Then it was the "Surfboard" version of the eZex [nee ePods] unit. Then it was a DVD internet-TV. Now it's this iTV. I've never known anybody who's received anything from this company. And why in the world would they be soliciting Social Security Numbers? Lordy...

Incidentally, although the units are no longer linked to the nadapc.com front page, you can still glimpse the [apparently discontinued] Surfboard here:

http://nadapc.com/surfboard/

For that matter, you can still glimpse the [apparently discontinued] internet-HDTV here:

http://nadapc.com/hdtv/

Hmm.

hmm...I wonder if there could be some units that need liquidating? (if there ever were substantial quantities)
