Can't access internet from ePods LAN

Well, now that I finally have my network functioning, I thought I was done. But nope, I still can't access the internet from my ePods, though I can browse my PC and share files. What do I need to do to enable my ePods to share my internet connection through my PC? I have tried all the stuff listed in the many threads I have found to no avail. (connection sharing is already ebnabled on the PC and works wirelessly from my other computers/devices)

Got any suggestions?

I'm guessing that you are using ICS for a recent Windows OS. If so, I don't believe that it can be configured to share to separate interfaces. If you open up the properties for the NIC that is sharing the Internet connection it should have a checkbox with the name of one of your interfaces (probably the other NIC connected to your wired LAN). I may be wrong, but it seems like you can only select one network to share to, not both. One solution, if you are using Win2K Server, is to set up Terminal Services and use the CE client to connect to the server. Hope this helps.

Yes, I am using ICS on a WinME machine as a gateway for my LAN to my superduper fast 56K :)

I am supposed to get WinXP RC1 (soon I hope...) so I'll be messing with terminal services some. I'll try disabling my wired LAN sharing, but that kinda stinks if I can't use both simultaneoulsy. Oh well, it that works I'll live with it. Thanks!

Success!

Now that I got back the control panel, all I did was enter my desktop as the primary DNS under network settings and I'm surfing wirelessly from ePods (though slow as a snail). Cool!! I did not have to disable anything or change anything on my PC, access from both my wired and wireless works simultaneously!

Could you post some configuration specifics on this? I've been battling with this for over a week. I'm trying to mix a wireless and wired lan on a 2000 client box w/ics and dial out with a 56k, just like you. What do you have listed in your tcp/ip addresses, dns and gateway fields? Do you have IP forwarding enabled?

thanks,
jim

I have the driver on my card (setting under network on the control panel) as follows:
Specify an IP address selected. IP Adress: 192.168.1.2 Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway 192.168.1.1
(I got these numbers from the control panel on my CF-01 while using the wireless. They worked for me on ePods as well. YOu could try a similar method with a laptop if these numbers don't work.)

I also had to set primary DNS to 192.168.1.1 in order to get net access from the ePods. I think that is my machine's IP address, can't remember.

Hope you get it working!
