Dead ePods Hard Reset issue

Well, I got a perfectly hacked ePod and then decided to mess it up. So I finally found Randy's site and the used KarmaPCs and JKGamers solution. Everything works fine untill I Hard Reset and then I get the lovely error message Boot Error ...could not copy files from /ePods System/Dialer. Is there anyone who has a clue how to resolve this. I have been blowing the ePod away using the shorting the DOC method and following directions as close as possible, but everythings reverts upon a hard reset. All help is appreciated.

Are you able to load a fresh 2.04 hack on? I would do that if possible, some files may be corrupted or something.

Whatder: You need to reimport the registry every time you do a hard reset with the 2.0x hacks. This should get you back to (more or less) a freshly hacked 2.0x (i.e. you have to reload any applications that you added). The 2.0x registry survives a soft reset just fine. A hard reset restores the registry to that of the stock ePods.

To revert the machine back to a stock ePods you need to restore the contenets of the DOC to the original files. In this case a hard reset will work perfectly since the registry will "match" the software loaded on the machine.

The DOC disable method is only needed when your file system is munged to the point that WinCE won't start.

HTH.

Actually, I'm at the point where I need to use the DOC disable method. My ePods will not boot properly, giving me the "Boot Error: Could not copy files from \ePods System\Dialer" and subsequent "Boot Error: Could not start program ifc.exe , error: 2" errors.

The problem I'm facing is that even after shorting those two pins on the DOC, copying the 2.04 system files over to the \ePods System folder (which was missing and had to be created), a hard boot of the system leads me back to the same problem again. Do you have any ideas? Is this ePods toast?

Oh yeah, and each time I go through the process, I find the \ePods System folder missing! (Why is that??)

I have the same problem. I was in the middle of a "Windows CE Shell: Version 2.04 Full", just finished importing the registry, when I got a white screen. I think the battery was low. I have tried a soft reboot, then a hard reboot. I now get a similar error "Boot Error ...could not copy files from /ePods system/help". I don't know what to do ? I am not familiar with your "shorting the DOC method" what is that ?
I can be reached at epod@rjs-electonics dot com.
Thanks
