Can i buy an external HDD or CD rom off of ebay and use it in the PCMCIA slot? Do i need any special drivers? Dose anyone know of anything that works? CF and Compact ATA drives are so expensive, i hope i can use a cheap external HDD. Thanks!

Using an external drive kinda ruins the portability and nice small size and also requires more power. A 128MB CF card can be had for $75 or less if you look hard enough and do rebates. I think newegg has some 128s for $78 or so. 128MB is more than enough for all the apps and games you could even want on your ePods unless you plan on doing mp3, which is really not that practical. I decided to go for a 340MB MicroDrive that I picked up for $180 new, it is way more than enough for anything on this machine pretty much. If I did it again, I'd got with a 128MB CF.

Oh, and of course 64MB or even 32MB may suit you well enough, in which case they can be had for even less. 64MB probably less than $50, 32MB less than $30.
