ok, i dont want wireless, and i've seen which nic's work with the epods, but i'm curious which ones people really have had really good luck with. i know that the Linksys EC2T is supposed to work well but i've not read many/any good reviews about the card standing up to any type of wear. anyways if you have suggestions for nic's it would be appreciated. thanks

Not sure what the best NIC is but I can definitely suggest that you stay away from the Linksys. The dongle is enormous and needs to be secured to the back of the ePods to prevent it from damaging the case. I failed to do that with mine and I think that the weight pulling against the card caused it to start dropping the connection after a couple of months of infrequent use. Linksys probably didn't figure that the PCMCIA slot could be positioned on top of the a handheld device as opposed to lying flat on the side of a laptop. My suggestion is to go with something that has a built in jack and not a dongle.

ok, like i said i have seen the ones on the hack page i'm glad there are many that work, but which one's are not POS nic's that break all the time like most people seem to think the linksys is. thanks

Didn't mention this in my earlier post because I wasn't sure if it would arrive today, but I just received a Kingston EtheRX CF adapter that I picked up from justdeals.com for only $13.95! Shipping is pretty high ($10.95 flat fee), but it's still a great price.
I'm using the card right now, and based upon my limited experience, I'd have to say I'm fairly impressed. No dongle, pcmcia adapter included (nice to have both options), acceptable speed, and the ePods recognized it immediately as an NE2000 adapter. Time will tell in terms of reliability but IMHO given the price, this is worth checking out.
