Hi.. I'm writing this post out of a number of concerns about the ePods:
1)PCMCIA problems
2)ActiveSync Speed
3)Unused headers on bottom of mobo

1) I've been using the unit fine in hacked easy and 2.04 complete for a while now, but suddenly one day, when sliding in the modem to connect online, It asked me for a driver. I thought this was a bit strange, and figured there was somehtign wrong with the socket. Inspecting it, nothing seemed amiss, so I tested the card in a laptop I had handy. Looked fine. Tried a different modem in the ePods, same result. Tried some network cards, it recognized as "unrecognized Network card" or somethign of the sort. From this I figured it was Not a faulty PCMCIA cage, or I'd no have been able to read the card type. whereas modems were totally unrecognized, at leas thte ne2000 card was listed as network card.
Trying many combinations of .dll entries, ne2000.dll, unimodem.dll serial.dll, etc I was able to successfully make the system identify the cards as belonging to these drivers and multiple re-inserts did not bring up the message any longer. However.. the card was still totally non-functional , and nothing would recognize it as existing.
I tried even restoring back to original ePods system , no luck. Examining the registry i noticed the names of the dll files i was supposed to be using, ne2000.dll, unimodm.dll, etc were NOT in the windows directory, even though the rom usually replaces them at hard reset from what I remember (or are they never in there at all?)
Today I purchased a SMC easy connect card to hopefully get this thing back online in any way possible if the rom drivers just may be malfunctioning, and same symptoms, driver requested, prismnds.dll entered, card lights up, control app works fine, but cannot find the card in either of the last 2 tabs, card is not selectable in any networking config.
From general opinions, does this sound like a dead PCMCIA component, corrupt ROM, or other problem?

2) Is there ANY possible way to set activesync speed to 56k or better? syncing a full system for creating a custom setup takes way too long at 19.2.

3)Has anyone else noticed unused (ATA?) headers J14, J15 on the mobo? Is there any documentation on what these are? ar first sight it appears as a 2.5" ata connector, but I'm probably hallucinating again. I have a v1.2 board with rom and doc on expansion board backside.

Thanks in advance.
