I'm a brand new ePods owner.
I saw one that a friend of mine owned and had to add one to my collection of niffty computers, so I bought one off of ebay.
One problem... The special modem cable is missing.
I'm sure all of you ePods owners here know which cable i mean, so here's my question...
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement for the ePods modem cable, or...
Does anyone know if there are other modems that will work with the ePods unit?
The PCMCIA modem which comes with the Epods is a stock modem. Don't think you will have any problems using any other type of PCMCIA modem. You will be disappointed with internet access speeds using dialup. You may want to consider using TS & wireless for web access.
I have the Linksys Wireless Network Adapter
and will be buying another Access Point soon,
but from time to time I take my epods unit
to places where a dial-up account is all I
have available, so I want to be sure I have
a modem at-the-ready for those situations.
Actually, you should confirm that the replacement PCMCIA modem has Windows CE 2.0 drivers. Not all are supported by the OS. Also, most CF Card Modems DO support Windows CE. Just be sure to get an adapter if you want to use it in the PCMCIA slot on the ePods.
