Dead Battery/Charging Circuit
Problem with Battery

My Boss recently handed me one of these units that's been sitting in his drawer for over a year to 'play' with. Right away I plugged the AC adapter in assumimg the battery probably wasn't charged. When I did this the battery LED briefly went 'Green' then almost immediately went 'Red'. This I figured was normal due to the long time of inactivity. I then left it overnight to charge. When I cam back the next morning the battery LED was a blinking red. While I could still power it on, if I disconnected the AC adapter I the unit would not operate on Battery. When I powered it back on I had to start all over again with the 'touch the cross hairs' routine. I opened up the back door and noted that there was a battery. It was labled as 'Model 6HR-AU, Rating 7.2V @ 2700mAh, Prod ID - EPB-100EN. Could the battery be NG or the charging circuit NG. Thanks for any assistance offered
