I've been contemplating buying the Kingston PCCard drive for a couple of weeks now. Seems like a good deal but I just saw that you can get a 256 MB CF card from Dell for $78 after coupon and $30 MIR.

My question is if anyone knows what the power consumption of the Kingston drive is vs. the Simpletech CF cards i.e. is the added hassle of a rebate and an additional ten bucks worth the additional battery life I'd get out of solid state memory? What about reliability? I'm assuming that the technology of the drive is similar to the MicroDrive.
I'm not too concerned about the form factor since my primary use would be to offload digital camera pictures from a CF card via the ePods.
