Hi Speedbal,

I have an Epods, original box, hacked to 2.04, 1 Cisco wireless 802.11b card, and the extremely hard to find 'original' neoprene case for the Epods that I'd let go for $265.00. If you're interested let me know. I live in Washington state so shipping should be estimated from here. I tried to email you direct but the email address bounced. Do you have an alternate email? Thanks...

hmm...that email should have worked... speedbalnospamplease@mail.com (delete the 'nospamplease') and let me know the details....truefully that is a little more that I wanted to spend, but since you are including the other "goodies" we are close to a deal.....(i live in houston) if that helps with shipping calcs.....or you can leave your email if it don't work when you send it this time

I have my last and only one left that I'm considering selling. I still have box and all original items. It's hacked to v2.04 also. I'm also in Washington state. It's in great condition but no neoprene case. I might throw in my wireless card for a little extra. If you want it too maybe I can ship it together with Epodfreak. That's if he's near the Seattle area.

Hey Sniff,

If Speedbal wants them both I can ship them, I'm in Redmond. Speedbal I'll send you some photo's tomorrow. All the stuff is in new condition. It is actually my spare Epods so other than to do the 2.04 hack it's never been used. I'm currently using a hardware beta of the Mira device so unfortunately the Epods have taken a back seat, which is why I'm letting go of this one.

Thanks for working on this for me boyz.....but my wife told me today she purchased an Hitachi HPW-630ETR for me and I thought I would work on that for a while....thanks for trying to hook me up.... I apologize for the trouble you went through.....

Anybody tried to put Pocket Pc (or anything newer than CE 2.12) on the Hitachi? It looks like a great machine...especially now since it has been discontinued....thx

epodsfreak, how is the MIRA? You expect to casually mention you are using a beta Mira and me not to freak out?
Please tell us more details!

Speedbal,
Hitachi is still supporting, and selling this machine at full price even though they aren't making an OS update available.
There is even someone whose job is to encourage software ports to it.

And the local tech support guy talks with engineers in Japan, so I think the eplate is still an active platform in japan.

I'm gonna try CE.net later. I suspect it'll require more CPU than the ePlate has but I love mine as is,
even though there are fewer pieces of software available for them.

Send me an email at itsvincer@yahoo.com, and I'll tell ya what I've learned about them so far.

ePodFreak -- Yeah, what about the Mira? :)

Okay guys, you beat it out of me!

The MIRA is way cool! Part of what makes it so nice is the OS extensions that are in the latest builds of XP (Freestyle type of stuff) that really make it a nice product concept. I love the size (10-inch LCD) and the same weight as the Epods, alot faster. All in all, it's what I wish the epods could have been made into. Especially the higher res display (upto 1024x768 @ 16-bit color). Not sure of pricing, but when it gets integrated into the larger LCD monitors (15-in +) then it will be incredible. Imagine using it as a regular desktop flatscreen monitor, then grabbing it and taking it to the couch to surt the net during commercials!! I can't wait! Hope this answers a few questions.

RE Mira, this seems like such a awesome idea (and a no brainier) Isn't this is what were all trying to make with our tablets pc's and wireless cards? A wireless monitor with touch/pin input. (Wonder why this is just coming about finally.) I've been asking for this for years. Is there any other wireless flat touch screen out there(terminal based or just wireless touch display)?? I hope this comes soon.

Does the monitor switch back to "local" (non terminal) mode when plugged in to its cradle?
Can it do anything on its own with its Mama PC off or out of range?
God I want one! One for my house, one for my car, work, bed...!
