First Post..(this group rocks!, had my Epod surfin' with a Cisco wireless in less than 2 hours).
I have an Epods that has the 1.02 hack applied, and can't seem to get Active Sync to work over Serial.
Setup:
1. Laptop running XP
2. Desktop1 running XP
3. Desktop2 running XP
4. Epod (Bought it while they were still in buisness)
Active sync works to #1 with IR, but doesn't work with 2 or 3 using Serial, I've tried every varation of Com port settings I can think of, anyone else seen this?
I thought Active Sync worked over TCP/IP?? Anyone know how to get eVB and eVC to see an Epod over TCP/IP? Want to write some apps, but it's a pain using the "cool-trick" shown below.
Cool trick:
You can get commercial applications to your epod by running the "Setup" program that comes with it on your Windows box. After that browse to the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Acvtive Sync\ directory and look for a folder resembling the name of the application. Open that and copy the MIPS cab file from there to a CompactFlash card, pop that into the Epod and run the file. App Manager takes over from there.
