Help needed getting SMC WLAN card working

I'm new to the ePods, but have managed to get comfortable with installing the V204 hack and messing with the registry a little.

However, I'm just not able to get this SMC Wireless PC Card (SMC2632W) working. I know that my access point works, and the fellow I bought the stuff from has been pretty helpful, but busy. He says it used to work for him just fine, and I have little doubt of his sincerity.

I'm installing the 'prism2.4000.cab' file in 'ePods1_Prism2.zip'. I'm able to get it installed and the configuration screen comes up. In this config screen, if I go to the 'Link' tab at the top, I get a message box 'Unable to the wireless net card. Is it insterted?'. I then OK out of that and the screen says 'Driver not loaded'.

If I go to Control Panel -> Network, there are 3 entries:

Intersil PRISM2 11 Mbps Wireless LAN PC
NE2000 Compatible Ethernet Driver
PROXIM RangeLan2 Driver

All three are set for DHCP, which should be fine - my WAP is a DHCP server. If I click OK to leave that screen, I get a message box "If the adapter is a PC card, remove and reinsert it for the new settings to take effect." It doesn't matter what I do, this thing ain't workin!

When I plug the SMC card into the PC card port, the light blinks once and stays off. It never comes on steady - and yes - I'm sitting right next to the WAP.

What's missing? A driver, config, or maybe just a small part of my brain!

Help please!

BTW, the instructions for the PRISM2.4000.CAB state:

-When you insert the Addtron 802.11b Wireless Ethernet card into the
ePod, you will be asked to enter the name of the driver - you
should enter "PRISMNDS.DLL" you should then see the the Yellow LED
on the Addtron card turn on (I have only run this card in "Infrastructure"
mode - i.e. Addtron PCMCIA card talking to a Cisco/Aironet Access Point
Bridge).

Well, I've never been asked for the driver!

Hmmmmm.
